During every political campaign there will be hot button issues brought up to entice you to side with one party over the other. Sometimes one issue will overshadow every other one because it matters most to the community. Crime rates tend to overshadow taxes because of their everyday impact on the community. Taxes aren't being raised everyday but there is always a crime happening at some point throughout the course of the day.
